Rated one of the best courses in the Chicagoland Area!

Built in 1987 by Dick Nugent and Bruce Borland, the Golf Club of Illinois in Algonquin is a classic links-style course featuring high fescue grasses, treacherous sand bunkers, and strategically placed mounds on each hole. Early on, the course quickly developed the reputation as a stern test for all skill levels of golfers, and was consistently ranked among the top 10 public courses to play by Chicagoland Golf.

In 1990, the Golf Club of Illinois hosted the Illinois Open Championship, which was won by Gary Pinns, the only player to break par in the tournament. Since that time, the course has remained a “secret” favorite for those looking for a unique, challenging round of golf. With four distinct tee areas, the Golf Club of Illinois provides a layout to match any golfer’s skill level.

Golf Club of Illinois also has a full size practice facility. Range balls can be purchased inside the golf shop to hit off of grass and matts. Large putting green is located behind the club house adjacent to the first tee box. Come enjoy our facility and test your skills.

To our valued GCI Customers Phase 4 Updates

The Golf Club of Illinois will be implementing the following changes starting Friday, June 26th, 2020:

Foursomes are now allowed.
2 golfers per cart is now allowed.
Driving range and putting green are open but you must maintain 6ft distancing.
Social distancing and limitations are still required and in place at our facility.

Starting July 1st we will accept any promotions or coupons and the expiration dates will be extended to
the end of the golf season. If you are using a Group Golfer or Golf Moose coupon they are good for 2 golfers per cart,
if anyone chooses to have a single cart you will be charged the $17.00 cart fee.

We are following the CDC recommended guidelines to ensure the health and
safety of our members, guests and staff.

Our bar will be open daily for inside, outside and carry out service.
